White Christmas Tree

I hope everyone is enjoying their holidays and gearing up for 2013!

Things have been crazy busy here in the last two months, and without going into too much detail or jinxing ourselves, I'm just going to suggest that you check back in a couple of weeks for the possibility of an exciting announcement (no, I'm not pregnant). 

In the meantime, I wanted to share some photos of our very first Christmas tree in our 6 years as a couple. 'Bout time!

I know what you're thinking. "Is that a top hat on your tree?" Why yes. Yes it is.

I followed this tutorial for making the hat. Feathers were added later after I finally found some fun ones.

Boyfriend is so helpful.

Costco has some really pretty ornaments. Who knew?

I thought about going modern with a white tree, but I just couldn't tear myself away from the traditional look completely, so I opted for a "flocked" tree (fake snow, and lots of it). The snow is surprisingly stuck on there, and not nearly as messy as I was dreading. Yay for chemicals!
